Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use this website, whatever device, ability or assistive technology they bring to it.

Our commitment

Flo Studio Software builds software for organisations and the people who use it, so accessibility is part of how we work and not something added at the end. We want this website to work for people with vision, hearing, movement, cognitive and learning disabilities, and for people who use a screen reader, voice control, a keyboard alone, a small screen or a slow connection.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C, 2023). In Australia, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) makes it unlawful to discriminate against people with disability in the provision of information and services, and the Australian Human Rights Commission points to WCAG as the benchmark for accessible web content.

What we have built in

  • Structure and navigation. One main heading per page, headings in a logical order, labelled landmarks and a “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
  • Keyboard use. Every function can be used with a keyboard, focus is always visible, and menus and dialogs, including the cookie preferences, manage focus and close with the Escape key.
  • Colour and contrast. Text and controls are designed to meet AA contrast, and meaning is never conveyed by colour alone. The site follows your device’s light or dark setting and lets you switch.
  • Text and zoom. Layouts use relative sizing and reflow on small screens so content stays readable when you enlarge text or zoom the page.
  • Motion. Parallax and animated backgrounds are decorative and switch off when your device is set to reduce motion. The clients carousel has a pause control, and the Our Approach section can be used with Previous and Next buttons or its step tabs, and falls back to ordinary scrolling on small screens.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text and announced to assistive technology.
  • Images and graphics. Decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology, and meaningful images are given text alternatives.
  • Language. Pages declare Australian English, and we write in plain language.

Known limitations

  • Our enquiry and careers forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. It is a third-party tool that may occasionally ask a visitor to complete a check, and some people find such checks hard to use. If it stops you submitting a form, please try a different browser or device and let us know through the Contact page, and we will help.
  • Articles, case studies and downloadable documents added later may not meet Level AA until we have reviewed them. We will check new content before it is published.
  • To protect our content, copying text and saving images from this website is disabled. This does not affect screen readers or keyboard use, and you can ask us for any content in another format.
  • We do not control third-party content or services that may be linked from this website.

Alternative formats and help

If you cannot use part of this website, tell us what you need and we will provide the information another way, for example as plain text or in large print, or through a conversation arranged via our Contact page.

Tell us about a barrier

If you find something that does not work for you, please use our Contact page and include the page address, what happened, and the device, browser and assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within five business days and to fix confirmed barriers as quickly as we reasonably can.

If you are not satisfied

If you are not happy with our response, you can make a complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission.

Beyond this website

Accessibility also shapes the software we build for clients. We ask about accessibility needs at the start of a project, design toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA by default, and treat accessibility problems as defects to be fixed and not as optional extras.

Privacy Preference Center

Websites can store or read small pieces of information in your browser, mostly through cookies and similar technologies. That information may relate to you, your preferences or your device, and we use it for the purposes described under each category below.

Flo Studio Software is responsible for the information collected through our own cookies. Some features also load services from third parties; for example, Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect our forms from spam. You can choose which optional categories to allow by switching them on or off. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work securely without them. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer. Our Cookie Policy explains each item in detail.
